  • Mid 1800: Henry Wiggin & Company formed
  • 1929: The Wiggin Companies became part of the International Nickel Company
  • 1941-1971: Pfeil development of Nimonic alloys at Inco Alloys Wiggin Facility
  • 1962: H. Eiselstein development of Ni3Nb leads to new alloys such as Inconel 718 (11)
  • 1998: SMC acquired Inco Alloys International
  • 2006: SMC became a wholly owned subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corporation

  • 1983: First approved to conduct external testing by NAMAS
  • 1983: First UKAS materials testing Approval
  • 2000: Turbomeca Approval
  • 2001: RR, General Electric, & Pratt & Whitney Approval
  • 2001: First UKAS Calibration Approval
  • 2002: First European Test House to gain full NADCAP approval
  • 2002: Snecma Approval
  • 2004: ITP Approval
  • 2008: MTU Approval
  • 2009: NADCAP, UKAS & RR for Crack Propagation
