IncoTest utilises industry standard
methods of chemical analysis. Providing
such a wide range of techniques ensures
the client that samples are analysed by
the most economical method, depending
on the type of material, the form of
the sample and the level of accuracy
required.
X- Ray Fluorescence (XRF)
Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES)
Laser Ablation ICP Mass Spectrometry
(LA ICP-MS)
Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP-OES)
Gas Analysis
Carbon & Sulphur Analysis
X-ray Fluorescence (XRF)
Simultaneous and sequential X-ray spectrometry is used for the determination of main and residual impurity elements. Accuracy is largely determined by the quality and range of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) used for calibration. IncoTest has access to a common suite of over 1,500 samples covering commercially available CRMs and certified in-house Reference Materials (RMs).
Laser Ablation ICP Mass Spectrometer
Using Laser Ablation ICP-MS, IncoTest is now able to analyse Nickel Based Superalloys for a variety of trace elements directly on the solid sample. This technique covers the 14 trace elements previously analysed by Hollow Cathode Optical Emission equipment. Now the task can be performed using the Agilent 7500a ICP-MS and New Wave UP266 Macro Laser Ablation system. The increased flexibility of ICP-MS also allows the possibility of a wider range of elements to be determined simultaneously, reducing the requirement for more time consuming techniques to be used.
